INTERVIEW WITH THE POSITIVITY AMBASSADOR QUEZZY THE CEO

When it comes to motivational speakers and relationship gurus on social media you have probably heard of Stephen Speaks, Derrick JAXN and Tony A. Gaskins Jr. Will get ready, because now there’s a new man on the block that is ready to take the positivity and self-love conversation to the next level. Quezzy The CEO is a certified life coach and author who has also come to be known as “The Positivity Ambassador”.

Staff:

So Quezzy, what made you want to become a social media icon who talks about positivity and relationships?

Quezzy:

Well, I wouldn’t call myself a social media icon, I’m not as well known as some of the other people who talk about this sort of thing, but it wasn’t the fact that I wanted to become someone who talks about positivity and relationships, I think it’s just who I already was and didn’t know it.

Staff:

What made you want to start taking it seriously?

Quezzy:

When I got out of prison I started an Instagram page and began posting motivational quotes as a way to keep myself focused so I wouldn’t go back to the things that got me in trouble. After a short while, I noticed that I was receiving a lot of support from people liking my posts and commenting and sending me messages in my inbox. People started sharing details about their life and their problems and asking me for my opinion and advice about what they should do. It was a very humbling experience for me and still is, the fact that people trust me enough and value my opinion enough to seek out my advice. I couldn’t do anything but take it seriously after that.

Staff:

A lot of people post motivational quotes with pictures of celebrities in the background. Why did you decide to use pictures of yourself?

Quezzy:

As I said, the main reason I started posting quotes in the first place was to keep myself motivated. Using my own pictures with quotes that I came up with made me feel like I was talking to myself. Most of us already know what we should do in life we just have to tell ourselves to do it. So I guess using my picture with the quotes was like I was giving myself advice.

Staff:

If you don’t mind me asking, you say you started your Instagram when you got out of prison. What did you go to prison for?

Quezzy:

I did 5 years in federal prison for being a pimp. The official charge was transporting women across state lines for the purposes of prostitution. When I was younger I went to prison for armed robbery. I’ve been in trouble with the law a few times but it was never because I was a bad person on the inside. We all have an idea of how we want our life to be and sometimes we do the wrong things in order to get what we want. Part of my mission now is to show people that no matter who you are or what you have done in your past you always have a chance to do the right thing. You are only one decision away from becoming the person you were born to be.

Staff:

We all have done things that we are not proud of. I know I have. What advice would you give to someone coming out of prison?

Quezzy:

I would tell them that building the life that you want is going to be difficult but it can be done. Most people that go to prison are entrepreneurs. They are good at business. They know how to create products and find customers. I would tell anyone coming out of prison to use those skills to their advantage. There are better ways to make money out here than doing something illegal.
